Who’s sky hasn’t darkened
And isn’t scared of the night
She who isn't afraid of men
Who sees them as uncles and brothers
Not rappers and thieves
She who naively believes in God
Doesn’t question his word on god
She who believes in Heaven and Santa Claus
She who believes in rewards after work
Who still gets fair treatment
And hasn’t been marginalized because of her gender
She who emulates innocence,
I want to trust her even though I no longer believe in all that
I want to trust her to borrow her happiness even for a while
To trust her so I don’t change for the world
To trust her so the world doesn’t change me for the worse
But into someone she’d be happy to become.
